Information about me
I am currently the Associate Director for the Oregon State UniversityOpen Source Lab. A graduate of Oregon State University and long-time user of Open Source and Linux, I have advocated the use of such tools on campus as well as in the community.
I have also helped to completely re-engineer the core campus infrastructure around Linux and Open Source tools. These services include proxynews, ftp, web, DNS/DHCP and mail.
A native of the Mid-West I moved out to Oregon in 1980 with my family and never looked back. Graduated from Beaverton High School in 1992, Oregon State University in 1997 and somehow just can't shake the University. I worked for a couple of dot com's (http://www.amazon.com, http://www.rulespace.com, http://www.pdaverticals.com) and am now happily back at Oregon State University.
While working at http://pdaverticals.com I was introduced to Debian GNU/Linux and immediately took to it. Since re-joining the University I have migrated all of our core infrastructure over to Debian GNU/Linux from a mix of Sun Solaris and Windows.
