Hi. I'm Corey. I have a pretty crazy passion for computers and cool new technologies that started back in the days of the Commodore 64. From there I ran a bbs for almost 3 years (started with an XT, later moved up to a 386 with a CD drive to mount shareware CD's) before being introduced to Linux in 1995. I started off with Slackware and quickly grew to love Linux. Soon after I helped to start a local Internet Service Provider in my hometown of Brazil, Indiana. This is where I gained the foundation of my Linux knowledge, since all of our services were hosted on a set of Linux servers. As most small town ISP's, this one was bought out
. From there, after a few odd jobs I ended up at Indiana University's Unix Systems Support Group
. There I handled support issues, maintained a massive public FTP mirror, and administered a handful of other systems including a condor
cluster of about 2,000 systems.
My interests include desktop Linux applications and uses, collaborative tools and communications, and general open source software promotion. I have been a licensed Amateur Radio operator (KB9JHU) for 10 years now.. I have a wife and a 1 year old boy who I enjoy spending time with as well!
