The OCKHAM Harvest-to-Query Service

The OCKHAM Harvest-to-Query Service (H2Q) is intended to address the need for an out-of-the-box tool to provide standard query interfaces to collection metadata which is available for harvest via the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting.

Once H2Q reaches it's 1.0 release point, it will:

  • Be as easy to install as your toaster
  • Harvest metadata from any OAI-PMH available collection
  • Provide Z39.50 and SRU/W querying to harvested collections
  • Allow harvesting and indexing from any metadata scheme

Currently, H2Q is at version 0.5.3. In this version, it :

  • Is as easy to install as your stereo system
  • Is able to harvest metadata from any OAI-PMH available collection which provides simple Dublin Core metadata records
  • Provides Z39.50 querying to harvested collections
