The Open Source Lab has just released the newest stable version of Maintain 3.0.0. Maintain is a powerful, web-based, multi-user network management application primarily for DHCP and DNS configuration and deployment. Maintain 3 uses a MySQL database backend and an entirely PHP codebase.

A number of improvements have been made since the last release of Maintain. This new functionality includes:

  • Modular Design
Maintain is now using a new extensible module system. One of the goals of Maintain 3 is to be as modular as possible. This way, you can change Maintain to fit your network managing needs easily. You could write modules to build files for other types of servers, or display additional information about your network
  • Entirely PHP code base
Maintain 2.4 was written in multiple languages (namely PHP and Perl). Maintain 3 has been moved to an entirely PHP codebase, so it is not necessary to be knowledgeable in any languages other than PHP to start hacking on Maintain.
  • Improved Skinning System
Maintain 3 has an easy-to-use skinning system, to make your maintain installation look the way you want it.
